Urban Wine Fest Plovdiv  is an invitation to all residents and visitors to the city beneath the hills, travelers, and professionals to celebrate together the festival of Bulgarian wine on the eve of International Mavruda Day.

On October 23 and 24, Urban Wine Fest returns to Plovdiv with a new selection of Bulgarian wines, through which we’ll explore the richness of local grape varieties and Bulgarian wine regions, accompanied by great music, delicious food, and master classes.

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE

Every bottle holds a message—about its place of origin, the grape variety, the people who created it, and the story waiting to be told.
At the Urban Wine Fest Plovdiv, these messages travel from their place of origin to the city, connect with people, and find their discoverers.

At the wine bar, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of Bulgarian wines showcasing the richness of local grape varieties, presented in an independent and accessible way by established wine professionals from the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals.


A selection of over 40 wines will give you the opportunity to rediscover familiar flavors and get to know lesser-known Bulgarian grape varieties, wines, and regions.

This year, the festival will once again focus on the regions, with the regional associations “Plovdiv Wine Routes” and Wines of Sakar taking center stage. United within their communities, the two regions will showcase their terroir with a new, richer selection of wines. They’ll tell you about their festivals and opportunities for wine experiences. They’ll make you feel like you’re part of their region.

For the most curious wine enthusiasts, there will be master classes on both days of the festival, where we’ll deepen your knowledge of the grape varieties, terroirs, and wines from the two regions featured at the festival—South Sakar and Plovdiv.
Because Urban Wine Fest Plovdiv is a celebration of Bulgarian wine, the city, food, music, and people.
Admission is free.
Wine and food are paid for on-site.
For tastings, you can use your own wine glass or rent one for a deposit.

This event is for people 18 years of age and older. We encourage moderate and responsible consumption.


Photos and video footage will be taken during the event and may be used for promotional purposes.
International Mavrud Day is an initiative of the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals; Urban Wine Fest Plovdiv 2026 is organized with the official support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Municipality of Plovdiv.
